I know that for many Mother’s Day can be a reminder the special people that they have lost.  It always reminds me of the strong beautiful smart women that loved me and are now looking out for me from Heaven.  I am blessed to still be able to celebrate my mom this Mother’s Day. I am always grateful for her but every day is a gift for us and I am especially grateful for her. 

One thing about being a photographer is that there are so many amazing artists around that form a wonderful community.  During everyone’s busy lives we often get a chance to get together and play.  Photographers, stylists, hair and makeup artists and models get together and have a great time.

The Los Angeles Farmers Market is a stop to add to your list.  If you want to support local farmers and have a wonderful selection of fresh produce this is the perfect spot.  Located net door to the Grove Shopping Center it’s easy to get to and has so much to offer.

As a photographer, I love the visual, pictures, lines, color, light they all make me happy.  As an avid reader, I also love words and find so much inspiration in them.  

While I’ve been off line working on a few things, if you’ve followed me on social media you know that I love inspirational quotes.  Those words of wisdom are really uplifting and while I’ve been away, I still find so much inspiration that I can use every day.

I’ve lived in Los Angeles for years and I have to admit I’ve never quite made it to the Getty Museum.  The one time we tried to go, we couldn’t find any parking so our plans were nixed.  I do advise you get there early to get your spot and make sure that you don’t miss out.

With a couple weeks under our belts some of us are really wondering, where in the heck is Spring?  Spring brings green grass and flowers and i love flowers.   I love color and the natural colors that flowers bring never cease to impress me.  While you can appreciate their beauty in your backyard, if you have a chance to visit flower fields and you’ll be inspired.   

If you’re like me, you’ve been working non-stop and maybe haven’t had a chance to have enough fun so I’m looking back at some simple fun.  Just a quick drive away. 

Taking a quick look back at this fun session with the sweet, smart and beautiful Mary Ann.  We took the time to just play in my studio in the Hawthorne Arts Center and don’t tell any, but we snuck out and explored the Center, finding a variety of locations to explore.

While I live in Southern California, I travel a lot and to true wintery locations on a regular basis so I am very happy to see the calendar switch to spring.  Now I am just waiting for Mother Nature to catch up.   I’ve had quite enough of scrapping car windows, forgetting my gloves and trying really hard not to slip and fall on the ice, and bundling up in layers upon layers.

One of the best parts of living in Los Angeles is the ability to hop in car and in just a few hours you can be in any number of fantastic places.  Joshua Tree National Park for example, just a 2 1/2 hour drive from LA and you’re in a completely different world.  It’s the closest national Park to LA and you’ll want to bring your camera because you will definitely want these photos.  We made a day trip of it coming in from Twenty Nine Palms we had a great day I’m sure you’ll enjoy this popular destination. 

No matter what happens in life, one thing is for certain and that is that the storms will come. There’s simply no way around it, no matter how beautiful and warm the sunshine is there are days when it will be blocked by the clouds. At times the rain will pour, thunder will roar and the lightning will flash.  Trust me as someone who we’ll say does not like thunderstorms and spends them under the covers, it’s not fun.  As much as I know that the storms will surely come, I also know that they pass by and the sun always returns.  Life is full of storms but the sun is always there and once the storm clouds clear will be there.

One way to bet the winter blues is with a quick trip to picturesque Las Vegas.  It’s the perfect weekend getaway.  You’ll find so much to do and you might not be able to get to everything on your list. Whether you’re looking for busy or relaxing, there’s definitely something for every taste.  

I must admit it, I’m secretly a romantic at heart.  Call it corny or predictable but I do love the happy endings in movies and books and definitely in real life.  Of course I know that life does not always end up with a happily ever after but one can still hope. 

I love the city life of LA.  I also love that Southern California has so much to do.  Not as often as I’d like, I try to get out and explore.  I found some secret ways to get away from the hustle and bustle by checking out the California Missions.  I’m just starting my exploration of them but have been intrigued by the history.  There are 21 Spanish Missions in California from Southern California (San Diego) to Northern California. Perfect for photos I’m excited to continue exploring and am determined to get to them all.

When it comes to weddings and the planning there are what feels like a million moving pieces that all have to come together to make that special day happen. There are big pieces and small pieces and together they all work to make your wedding day unforgettable.  Those small pieces can consist of many details. The details may seem small but they put your stamp on your wedding day.  Those choices help make your day yours; they give you a chance to inject your personality and style into your wedding.  Those small special touches help make your day even more special and memorable.  

t’s still January and if you’re like me you’re already tired of winter.  Yes I know that I live in Los Angeles but I travel to wintery locations almost on a weekly basis so yes, I am with you.  I’m just luck enough to get to go back to LA for the weekends.  During the week it’s boots, gloves, hats, scrapping ice and snow from the car and building in warm up time to my morning, all things I’d rather live without. During times like these I remember how much I like to travel to the picture perfect Sandals resorts, located in the Caribbean.  This week let’s discuss the Sandals Royal Bahamian in Nassau Bahamas.

decided to find one word to be my theme for 2018.  I’m a goal setter, it helps me keep moving forward but at times I can definitely end up with too many irons in the fire.  So for this new year, I’ve decided to simply things a little.  I’ve come up with one word to drive me for 2018. That word is Action. In my photography business; that means that I’ve got to implement some of the many ideas that I have worked so hard to develop.  It can be scary since so much can go wrong but I have to move forward. Telling stories and creating memories is the driving force of what I’m doing and putting my plans into place to grow my portrait and wedding photography business is something that I have to do.  

2017 has been a tough one.  With just a few days left like many others I’m taking stock of the past year and looking forward to turning the page and starting with a fresh year.
