The Storms Will Come

March 2, 2018 Trina Yarrington

No matter what happens in life, one thing is for certain and that is that the storms will come. There’s simply no way around it, no matter how beautiful and warm the sunshine is there are days when it will be blocked by the clouds. At times the rain will pour, thunder will roar and the lightning will flash.  Trust me as someone who we’ll say does not like thunderstorms and spends them under the covers, it’s not fun.  As much as I know that the storms will surely come, I also know that they pass by and the sun always returns.  Life is full of storms but the sun is always there and once the storm clouds clear will be there.

Sometimes when it’s storming it’s good just to huddle in side and take care of your self, hot chocolate cider or tea and your favorite stack of books and magazines can be a treat and help you take a mental break while the storm rages outside.  So even when it’s just life’s storms blowing in your life, get somewhere comfortable and treat yourself.  I find that the simple act of distraction can work wonders.  I find something to do or something to focus on and time will keep moving by.  Letting others help you can remind you that even though you may be in the middle of a storm, you’re not alone.  You have people on your side and you will be okay.  Time will move and you’ll look up and realize that the storm is gone so don’t feel bad about leaning on the people that care about you when you need it.

Remember that after the storm, the sun is coming back.  No matter how dark it is it’s going to be brighter. The sun after a storm always shines a little bit brighter, and the sky is clear and blue.  Sometimes if you’re lucky, you’ll even get a rainbow or maybe even a double rainbow, definitely one of my favorite things.

If you’re in the middle of a storm, hang on tight the sun is coming.
