I love the city life of LA. I also love that Southern California has so much to do. Not as often as I’d like, I try to get out and explore. I found some secret ways to get away from the hustle and bustle by checking out the California Missions. I’m just starting my exploration of them but have been intrigued by the history. There are 21 Spanish Missions in California from Southern California (San Diego) to Northern California. Perfect for photos I’m excited to continue exploring and am determined to get to them all.
I always get a California History lesson each time I pay a visit to one of this historical gems. Lot’s to learn, lot’s to marvel at, lot’s to appreciate in today’s busy modern world. I am always amazed at the things that creative people could build hundreds of years ago with none of the modern technology to help. Starting with San Diego De Alcala originally founded in San Diego in 1769 and moved to its current location in 1774. You’ll be able to travel north to Mission San Francisco Solano near Sacramento. Each one has a story to tell and set the scene for great photos.
Quiet and perfect for reflection, just me and my camera and a few other visitors, of course I mean quite a few other visitors. They are the perfect locations for photos. Ideal for a portrait session, senior photos, an engagement session, the Missions provide a picture perfect backdrop. Some locations even allow weddings with the background for those perfect wedding images.
I’m still on my mission to hit them all but am happy with the start.
